I use lightwave to do the crossfades, loading one set of frames as a
backdrop sequence, the other set of frames as a foreground sequence and
then using a foreground dessolve envelope to set up the fade. This may be
a slightly slower method than using Adpro or ImageFX etc but it only takes
about 1.5-2 min per frame and the main advantage is that the fades don't
have to be linear - unlike using an image processor.
